2022\/23 #2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the 2nd newsletter for 22\/23 but please check the classes page and the events page both of which have been updated &#8211; hopefully correctly!\u00a0 I hope you are enjoying this continued good weather but no doubt the rain will be back with us all too soon.<\/p>\n<p>Scottish Country dance classes are starting up again so check which classes fit your schedule and come along &#8211; many first nights are free.<\/p>\n<p>We had a great and enthusiastic attendance at the introductory class on August 29 in the West End Community Centre.\u00a0 There is a plan to re-start the West End class in the WECC and it will be announced on this (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouverceilidh.org\">www.vancouverceilidh.org<\/a>) and the RSCDS (<a href=\"http:\/\/rscdsvancouver.org\">rscdsvancouver.org<\/a>) websites as soon as we have the details worked out.<\/p>\n<p>Do not forget the Ceilidh Dance on Friday September 30 in the Scottish Cultural Centre, 8886 Hudson Street, Vancouver.\u00a0 There is a free class at 7 pm then the dance follows from 8 &#8211; 10:30 pm with live music by Calanais.\u00a0 All easy dances that are taught and called and everyone has lots of fun and great exercise.\u00a0 Tell your friends and make it an outing &#8211; it only costs $15 ($10 for students) and there are refreshments (including cider &amp; 7:45 then we will all exit to give the band a chance for a sound check etc. and the dance class will run from 8:00 &#8211; 10:30 with live music by Calanais.\u00a0 Alison will continue to be your teacher\/caller so you are guaranteed to have a great evening.\u00a0 No change to the admission &#8211; still $15 with students $10.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Let us all hope that the dances will not be <\/b><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>interrupted<\/b><\/span><b> by anything and we will have lots of dancing and fun again.\u00a0 Any questions?\u00a0 please contact me &#8211; background-color: #ffff99;\"><strong>In order to keep the Ceilidh Dances running it takes a number of volunteers to do various jobs such as: &#8211; <\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; background-color: #ffff99;\"><strong>getting the liquor licence<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\"><strong>re-stocking the supply of drinks and refreshments and getting them to the hall<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\"><strong>Filling the water jugs before and during the dance<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\"><strong>Collecting the entrance fees, keeping track of the number of dancers, reconciling the funds collected, adding the donations, paying the expenses<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\"><strong>Calculating the cost of the drinks used\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\">Etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\">Etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;
