many first nights are free &#8211; check out the new beginner class on the North Shore.<\/p>\n<p>Do not forget the Ceilidh Dance on Friday October 28 (that is a week on Friday) in the Scottish Cultural Centre, 8886 Hudson Street, Vancouver.\u00a0 There is a free class at 7 pm then the dance follows from 8 &#8211; 10:30 pm with live music by Calanais.\u00a0 All easy dances that are taught and called and everyone has lots of fun and great exercise.\u00a0 Tell your friends and make it an outing &#8211; it only costs $15 ($10 for students) and there are refreshments (including cider &amp; style=\"text-align: center;\">gorgeous mountain view from Arran<\/p>\n<p>The weather continues to be amazing with sun most days and quite warm too though you notice the difference when the sun goes down.\u00a0 It has been well above the average temperature for this time of year but the lack of rain &#8211; we have had none for weeks &#8211; is causing drought conditions and we are asked to conserve as much water as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Our Ukrainian family are gradually getting settled into our home, schools and BC.\u00a0 Kira (nearly 8) is in grade 3 is very shy but gradually coming out of her shell and was on a pumpkin farm trip with her class.\u00a0 Arsenii (14) passed his English assessment with flying colours and has entered a math quiz.\u00a0 Hanna &#8211; mother &#8211; still struggles with English and either uses google translation or Arsenii.\u00a0 \u00a0I gather they talk regularly with their father who is still in Ukraine) and they were very worried, naturally, when they heard that their city was hit by rockets but, thankfully, no one they knew was killed or injured.\u00a0 It was still very upsetting for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>The wedding 7:45 then we will all exit to give the band a chance for a sound check etc. and the dance class will run from 8:00 &#8211; 10:30 with live music by Calanais.\u00a0 Alison will continue to be your diverted to Sacramento along the way.\u00a0 The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Everybody got off the plane except one lady who was blind.\u00a0 The man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her Guide dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight.<\/p>\n<p>He could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, &#8216;Kathy, we are in Sacramento for almost an hour.\u00a0 Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?&#8217;\u00a0 The blind lady replied, &#8216;No thanks, but maybe Buddy would like to stretch his legs.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Picture this:<\/p>\n<p>All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Guide dog!\u00a0 The pilot was even wearing sunglasses.\u00a0 People scattered.<\/p>\n<p>They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change to<br \/>\ncall the Townsville airport to charter a flight.\u00a0 \u00a0He was told a twin-engine plane would be waiting for him at the airport.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Arriving at the airfield, he spotted a plane warming up outside a hanger.<\/p>\n<p>He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and shouted, &#8216;Let&#8217;s go&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind and took off.<\/p>\n<p>Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, &#8216;Fly over Mount Stuart and make<br \/>\nlow passes so I can take pictures of the fires on the hillsides.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Why?&#8217; asked the pilot.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Because I&#8217;m a photographer for the Bulletin&#8217; he responded,&#8217; and I need to get some close up shots.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The pilot was strangely silent for a moment, finally he stammered, &#8216;So, what you&#8217;re telling me,<br \/>\nis . . ..\u00a0You&#8217;re NOT my flight
