Scottish Country dance classes will be starting up again so check which classes fit your schedule and come along – many first nights are free – check out the new beginner class on the North Shore.<\/p>\n

Do not forget the Ceilidh Dance on Friday January 27 – that is 1 week away –<\/strong> in the Scottish Cultural Centre, 8886 Hudson Street, Vancouver.\u00a0 There is a free class at 7 pm then the dance follows from 8 – 10:30 pm with live music by Calanais.\u00a0 All easy dances that are taught and called and everyone has lots of fun and great exercise.\u00a0 Tell your friends and make it an outing – it only costs $15 ($10 for students) and there are refreshments (including cider & beer) for a donation.\u00a0 Mark your calendars now and make plans to join the fun.<\/p>\n

I am a wimp!\u00a0 There was\/is nothing cracked or broken just badly bruised and it is easing up so it does not hurt much.\u00a0 I am even dancing – well walking as I haven’t been able to dance for a long time – so nothing to worry about.\u00a0 I have found where the snow shovel is but I am forbidden to use it – not that we have had any snow since Christmas.<\/p>\n

It is back to school and the morning taxi service.\u00a0 Arsenii and Kira are good and are ready by 8:10 every morning that is if Arsenii does not cycle to school which he does most mornings.<\/p>\n

It is time to get ready for the Ceilidh Dance on January 27 and the Burns Supper on the 28th – over 160 will be attending the Burns Supper so that is excellent.\u00a0 I have a great committee who do all the work while I just sit and organize.\u00a0 It would be great if there is a large attendance at the Ceilidh dance too.<\/p>\n

The dances will be will be <\/strong>held at the Scottish Cultural Centre, 8886 Hudson Street, Vancouver.\u00a0 The class will be held in the large hall from 7:00 – 7:45 then we will all exit to give the band a chance for a sound check etc. and the dance class will run from 8:00 – 10:30 with live music by Calanais.\u00a0 Alison will continue to be your teacher\/caller so you are guaranteed to have a great evening.\u00a0 No change to the admission – still $15 with students $10.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Help us spread the word – I am not into social media but I am sure somebody can promote the Ceilidh Dance(s) there for me especially out at the Colleges and Universities.\u00a0 Tell all your friends to come along – it really is a fun (and cheap!) evening.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Last month’s dance was very well attended with 76 dancers having a great time.\u00a0 It would be great if we had another large attendance on January 27 to get the New Year off on the right foot (or is that the left one?).\u00a0 So we need your help to spread the word – see what you can do to drum up some business for us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A lawyer and a senior citizen are sitting next to each other on a long flight.<\/p>\n

The lawyer is thinking that seniors are so dumb that he could get one over on them easily.<\/p>\n

So, the lawyer asks if the senior would like to play a fun game.<\/p>\n

The senior is tired and just wants to take a nap, so he politely declines and tries to catch a few winks.<\/p>\n

The lawyer persists, saying that the game is a lot of fun ….”I ask you a question, and if you don’t know the answer, you pay me only $5.00. Then you ask me one, and if I don’t know the answer, I will pay you $500.00,” he says.<\/p>\n

This catches the senior’s attention and, to keep the lawyer quiet, he agrees to play the game.<\/p>\n

The lawyer asks the first question. “What’s the distance from the Earth to the Moon?”<\/p>\n

The senior doesn’t say a word, but reaches into his pocket, pulls out a five-dollar bill, and hands it to the lawyer.<\/p>\n

Now, it’s the senior’s turn. He asks the lawyer, “What goes up a hill with three legs, and comes down with four?”<\/p>\n

The lawyer uses his laptop to search all references he can find on the Net.<\/p>\n

He sends\u00a0 E-mails to all the smart friends he knows; all to no avail. After an hour of searching, he finally gives up..<\/p>\n

He wakes the senior and hands him $500.00. The senior pockets the $500.00 and goes right back to sleep.<\/p>\n

The lawyer is going nuts not knowing the answer. He wakes the senior up and asks, “Well, so what goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four?”<\/p>\n

The senior reaches into his pocket, hands the lawyer $5.00, and goes back to sleep.<\/p>\n
